Cortijo de las Monjas The wineyard is located
surrounding the farmhouse, at 700 metres of

Costa de la Luz
Beaches The long sandy
beaches of the Costa de la Luz are an hour away by
car. Tarifa is the kitesurfing mecca of Europe, and
old town of Tarifa is delightful (though not in the
height of summer!) There are regular daily ferries
from the port to Tangier, Morocco. |

Further along the
coastline towards Cadiz, you’ll find Roman ruins
and beaches at Bolonia, Zahara de las Atunes,
Barbate de Franco (where Columbus departed on is
voyage in 1492) Cape Trafalgar (Punto Trafalgar) -
all interesting historical coastal areas.

within 15 minutes of the house. |

Closer to home
Walking, cycling, horse riding in the
surrounding countryside. Jimena has several
local walks through the village up to the castle on
top of the hill. There are several festivals during
the summer, and a well known music festival each
year.

Castellar de la
Frontera is a 20 minute car ride away, partly
through beautiful cork forest, a beautiful ancient
hilltop town with castle fortress and spectacular
views.

Ronda
A beautiful hilltop town with stunning views, you can
drive up the hill there in under an hour, passing Gaucin or go by train from Jimena which passes
through spectacular countryside. The view from the
gorge is breathtaking, the old walled town is
beautiful and there are several good restaurants. |

Local Shopping:
- There are several local shops, as
well as a good baker and butcher at Estacion de Jimena,
the little village just before Jimena itself. There is
also a small supermarket and ham/cheese/olives
delicatessen.
- Large European style supermarkets can

- There are more shops in Jimena,
another supermarket, and various bars and restaurants.
